We invite you to spend an afternoon on a road trip to Sloop Jones’ art studio and shop on the East End of St. John.
If you’re coming from Cruz Bay, we recommend taking N Shore Rd (Rte 20)
rather than Centerline Rd (Hwy 10), unless you’re in a big hurry.
We know how excited you are to get here,
but the scenic route is well worth it.
Trust us.
You’ll eventually get to Coral Bay.
There are great restaurants, bars, and shops to explore here.
But, if you can believe it,
you still have another 15 minutes or so until
you reach us out on the East End of St. John.
At the Coral Bay triangle with all the signs, go to your left.
Stay on this roller coaster of a road until it runs out.
You’ll see signs pointing the way to Sloop Jones before then.
Friends and fans from across the globe make this trek annually to get their fix of Sloop’s lovely bit of paradise, a place that feels vibrant and serene at the same time.
Inspired by Monet and Gauguin, Sloop drew a vision of an artist’s retreat amidst a garden by the sea.
This was in 1986. For almost three decades Barbara and Sloop formed and refined this sketch.
Starting with a small island cottage,
they built an artist’s compound surrounded
by aromatic gardens of orchids, fruits,
flowering trees, and rare bamboos.
The fragrance and beauty
of the blooms are intoxicating.
Color, love, and beauty surround you from
the moment you step on the property.
Romantics and Rainbow Chasers,
this island adventure to the East End of St. John
has your name ALL over it.
See you soon.
